About the Author

Reverend Bill Minson

Forty-two years ago, Bill Minson was breaking barriers as the first Black agent at the powerhouse talent agency ICM, representing stars like KC & the Sunshine Band, Natalie Cole, Steve McQueen, Al Green, and Raquel Welch. His work in the entertainment world led to appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Ed Sullivan’s Right Here on Our Stage Tonight, and features in biographies of Robert Guillaume, Margaux Hemingway, and William Guest of Gladys Knight & the Pips.

But success in entertainment wasn’t enough to quiet a higher calling. Reluctantly at first, Minson answered God’s call to ministry—beginning a lifetime of chaplaincy that has brought him to the frontlines of America’s greatest tragedies. For more than four decades, he has prayed with and counseled families and first responders from 9/11 to Oklahoma City, Columbine, Parkland, and beyond.

Today, Minson serves as a chaplain for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and for the Las Vegas field office of the U.S. Secret Service. He works closely with members of Congress to advance legislation on mental health and suicide prevention, championing the nationwide Stop Whispering Campaign to break the silence that devastates first responders and their families. His outreach continues with survivors, dispatchers, and responders across the nation, offering encouragement, healing, and hope wherever it is needed most.

Through it all, Minson has stayed true to his oath to God. He has never passed a collection plate, sent a donation envelope, or posted a GoFundMe. Instead, he relies on faith, trusting in God’s provision for TUDAY’S MINISTRIES, and dedicating every chapter of his life to serving others.
